Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm
Once again this year we will be celebrating Spring at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. If you have never been to the Wooden Shoe Tulip farm, we highly recommend spending an afternoon there, or even better take advantage of this world famous backdrop with a photography session.
With 40 acres of tulips in a variety of colors, views of vineyards, and on clear days Mt. Hood the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is the ideal place for a portrait session.
Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm Portrait Sessions
Some things to Know
Our Tulip Portrait Sessions are scheduled in one hour increments so you will have plenty of time with your photographer. Please plan to be there a little early so you can find parking and walk out to the field. We usually book up for this event so if you are late it will cut into our session time together.
What to Wear:
As with most portrait photography the clothes can really make or break a session. Since the tulip field is already so colorful we find that simpler clothes photograph better for the portraits and encourage clients to stay away from busy patterns.
Keep in mind the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is held at an actual tulip farm so the ground is more than likely to be wet and is usually muddy. It is best to plan foot wear accordingly.
If you would like pictures of your family or children sitting on the ground with the tulips it is best to bring a blanket that will go with the outfits that they are wearing.
The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm does charge an admission to the farm of $5 per person over the age of 13 with a $20 maximum per car load. All clients are responsible for this fee and it is not included in your session fee.
If you are booking a session outside of the normal festival hours, there may be an additional parking fee paid to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm of up to $20.
The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival does allow pets/dogs to attend as long as they are well behaved and on a leash. Out of respect for the Farm we will ask that all dogs in photographs be kept on a leash throughout the session.
Is there stuff to do there or is it just flowers?
There are so many fun things to do! They have a vendor area which in years past has also featured rides and activities for children. They have a cute little train ride. There is wine tasting every year, and usually some great craft brew selections as well. There are several food vendors, but they also allow you to bring your own food if you would like to sit down for a picnic in the tulips. You can read more about the festival on their website Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm
